Friendship is definitely one of the most indispensable
experiences of life. If you ask anyone around you if they
have friends, surely their response will be one of shocked
incredulity due to asker's ignorance of a universal truth:
everyone has friends. Since it is a genetic predisposition for
us to make friends, we know all too well the importance
of making friends, the way we make friends and the caution
we must exercise in choosing our friends.
Friends are important for several reasons. Firstly,
they provide the kind of emotional support that family
cannot give during our turbulent growing-up years.
During this time,we often feel that the family cannot
fully understand what we go through. Friends of our
age are usual recourse that we have when encountering
problems in our friendships or studies. Even after we
have graduated into adulthood, friends still prove to be
powerful sources of emotional support. They listen to
our grievances and laugh with us at the foibles of life.
They are important supports in our lives. This is evident
when they can help us in our most troubled times by
simply listening or even providing companionship. Some
of the best memories of life are those spent in the raucous
company or quite confidence of friends. Furthermore, friends
are the first people we practice our social interaction skills on
the most certainly the refine such abilities.
Making friends can be one of the most rewarding experiences
in life. But too rosy an expectation of friendship can be dangerous
as it may cause disillusion and great unhappiness. Like every
other experience in life, one must always be ready to take the
good with the bad.
So, please think properly before you choose your friend.
