There Is No Fairytale

Tell me what you think you see
Is the grass as greener as they say
Draw down your draw bridge
Because your castle awaits
You can see all the images so vividly
Because you're wrapped up in your dreams
And I couldn't possibly
Send my speech into your brain wave
It's like you always try to forget
Whatever I want to say
Until I make you wait and listen to me

I've been thinking about the summer
And I think we went too far
It was just a night where no one was to blame
And I know it wasn't right
When I last kissed you goodnight
Because this fairytale is complete broken

There's no castle
Only rubble from where it once stood
There's no grass it was burnt
Along with the things that should
There is nothing in sight for a thousand miles
So do you realize?
There is no fairytale
I'm no prince
I'm just me
There is no fairytale
There's no us
It's just me

Wake up you're dreams are leading you into the hills
Where it's told you have no memory
Of all the sudden ills
I hope you try to figure out what might have been
Because I hate to try to make you understand
There is no us but you see
You have difficulty comprehending
All the words I say
And I'm sure you hope for it
In your own kind of way
How much that I try
But I can't seem to make you understand
Without taking your hand
And telling you face to face

I've been thinking about the summer
And I think we went too far
It was just a night where no one was to blame
And I know it wasn't right
When I last kissed you goodnight
Because this fairytale is complete broken

There's no castle
Only rubble from where it once stood
There's no grass it was burnt
Along with the things that should
There is nothing in sight for a thousand miles
So do you realize?
There is no fairytale
I'm no prince
I'm just me
There is no fairytale
There's no us
It's just me
